The supercapacitor electric vehicle has established a new design concept for transportation electric vehicles with its excellent performance, low cost, and zero emissions. This article summarizes the basic principles and characteristics of supercapacitors, and introduces the application and development of supercapacitors in pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.
